Real Madrid Foundation Soccer Camp launches at La Manga Club
May 11th, 2012
Real Madrid enhanced their place among Europe’s footballing giants by capturing their 32nd La Liga Spanish title earlier this month (May) and children will have the chance to learn from the Real Madrid Foundation’s coaches at Spain’s La Manga Club resort this summer.
Under the guidance of record-breaking manager Jose Mourinho, who has now won the national championship in four different countries, the iconic club is on the verge of beating the league’s all-time scoring record this season – making them the perfect side for youngsters to pick up advice from.
The Real Madrid Foundation Soccer Camp will run from 16-27 July, giving budding stars of the future the chance to emulate skilful players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka, and is open to girls and boys between the ages of seven and 17.
Each day includes three hours’ training from the Real Madrid Foundation’s official coaches, recreational activities and lunch. In addition, those taking part will also receive a diploma for their attendance and Real Madrid Foundation training kit.
The camp is ideal for keen young footballers on a family holiday at La Manga Club, where they can attend the Day Camp (from 9.00 to 19.30 hrs each day, Monday through Friday), although, if preferred, they can also attend the Full Residential Football Camp, which includes full board and accommodation at 4* Las Lomas Village in a summer camp environment under the supervision of the Real Madrid Foundation’s experienced and qualified team of camp counsellors.
The Real Madrid Foundation Campus Experience complements La Manga Club’s extensive range of junior academies, where young sports fans can learn or improve their tennis, football, cricket, rugby, dance or golf skills, the latter including the option of a Lee Westwood Junior Golf Academy.
La Manga Club boasts eight international-standard grass pitches and, during the first three months of 2012 alone, some 82 different teams stayed at the five-star resort to play and train.
Liverpool, Celtic, Wigan Athletic and Borussia Dortmund are among those to have used La Manga Club’s outstanding football pitches, training facilities and accommodation in recent years.
In addition a 28-court tennis centre, three championship golf courses and a 2,000sqm spa and fitness centre are among the leisure amenities, ensuring there is plenty for players and their families to enjoy away from the pitch.
La Manga Club boasts unrivalled facilities as a sport and leisure destination with the choice of a five-star hotel, four-star serviced apartments and townhouses, more than 20 bars and restaurants and is great fun for children.
