Footballers’ Golf Classic at La Manga Club

April 23, 2010

June 5th to 10th 2010

Following the success of last year’s event, which saw 28 teams and star footballers battle it out for the prestigious Green Jacket, the 14th edition of this La Manga Club “classic” looks set to be every bit as thrilling as its predecessors.

Sponsored by Addison Lee and organised by Mancini Events (led by former Arsenal and QPR player Terry Mancini) in collaboration with La Manga Club, the event sees teams of three amateurs playing alongside a different football celebrity each day. In previous years, footballers have included Trevor Brooking, Francis Lee, Steve Bull, Matt Le Tissier, Graeme Sharp, Glenn Hoddle, Liam Brady, Pat Jennings and Kenny Dalglish to name but a few.

New advanced football academy

April 4, 2010

La Manga Club’s Football Academy is held at the famed La Manga Club Professional Football Centre, where top players from around the world have trained. Programmes run over five days for children from 3 to 16 years.

New for 2010 is the Advanced Football Academy, which offers a more intensive programme with two daily sessions for keen footballers aged 13 to 18 years. The morning sessions focus on fitness and stamina, with technical skills being worked on in the afternoons.

Another highlight for summer 2010 will be the Milan Junior Camp (11 to 17 July), but more about that later.
