Mar Menor

A natural saltwater lagoon, the Mar Menor has long been an attraction for families seeking to get away from the stresses of city life and to spend some time together enjoying its warm, shallow, tranquil and non-tidal waters.
This immense lagoon benefits from 315 days of sun a year and an average annual temperature of 18ÂşC. Along its 73-km shoreline, there are numerous beaches with warm, clear, shallow waters (at its deepest point, it is only 7m deep) and safe conditions, which make it ideal for water sports such as sailing, water skiing, diving, kayaking and more.
La Perdiguera, Mayor, Redonda and Ciervo islands are another attraction for sailing enthusiasts, where the whole family can enjoy a day’s sailing and island activities.
The shallow, tranquil waters are perfect for families, with a host of activities for all ages, including therapeutic mud “baths” and beaches just made for relaxing and enjoying sun and sand.
Last but not least, nothing could be more relaxing as the sun goes down than a long walk along the shores of the Mar Menor on a summer’s evening.
